While I think it's ridiculous for anyone to AI "steals" their work, when the model was trained on billions pictures and is a combination of all of them, it gets lot more sketchy when it's trained on work one person with a deliberate aim to recreate their work as close as possible. Although for the lawsuit to become some sort of precedent it would probably have to go through multiple courts at which point the big companies would join in.Īlthough my views have somewhat evolved on this. They know exactly what they are doing by targeting relatively small guys who might not have means or ability to properly defend themselves. Yeah I kinda view it the same way, although it triggers me a bit that the target of the lawsuit was Stability AI and Midjourney and not Google, OpenAI, Nvidia and many other big corporations. So I'd actually argue the lawsuits are more than welcomed at this stage, as they will either bring a green light or will enforce a certain type of action on AI devs to receive the commercial green light. It was an example, you are free to discuss the idea with ChatGPT if you want haha It's a very useful tool, but just that, a tool that we humans USE to create whatever we want, for inspiration in the preproduction stage, not for the final productĮdit: just in case, I'm not planning on doing a mechanical rabbit metroidvania set in a dystopian future with time travel mechanics. It has never disappointed me, sometimes it gives better ideas than other times, that's why I generally ask for 5 or 6 different ones. Something like that, until I have something that convinces and inspires me. Me: - I like ideas number 3 and 4, fuse them together and expand them Me: - give me 5 variations of idea number 4, but add the concept of time travel. Me: - Make one of the characters a mechanical rabbit that lost it's sister to radiation Me: - Give me 5 ideas for a cooperative metroidvania set in a dystopian future I also use ChatGPT in a similar manner and I don't understand either why people think we let the AI to do all the work, when my perception is that most people use it as an assistant. One visitor already reminded me to say this: all the brushes may be freely used for private and commercial purposes.Exactly. To create a suggestion of a brush stroke, I used the spikes in Krita's Pixel Brush engine, instead of a separate "brushy" graphic.Īnyway, when you go look at this stuff, I may still be adding and editing notes. But then I got carried away, and found some interesting angles that might make the brushes useful for hopeless painters like me, who don't know what they're doing most of the time. The only paint brush I had intended to begin with was a watercolor wash, for using with inking. It works together with Mojo Tone, which is an entire range of flat grayscale screentone, 49 different shades in all. Zipper leaves some unavoidable grayscale, but it can be easily burned off without ruining the look. We're used to this look in manga, some indie comics, and a return to pulp paper by a newer comic book company called Alterna. My hope is that these tools can be used by cartoonists who actually aim at IRL black and white printing. The Zipper brush in Mojo Ink is similar to the default Screentone Pressure, but the output is harder black and white. If nothing else, this helps you to focus more on what you're doing as an inker. The ink brushes tend to have oval tips that follow the drawing line, instead of round tips, in an effort to recreate something like the feel of dragging an ink brush across paper. Some of it is pretty straightforward, some of it is experimental and possibly confusing. Sorry it's all hosted on DeviantArt, I don't have any other kind of website right now. So I split the set up into four related bundles: Mojo Tools, Mojo Ink, Mojo Tone, and Mojo Paint. I began experimenting more, and I started creating so many brushes that I started losing track of things. So when I got back to it, I just started from scratch. But then at some point my computer blew up. It was so much better that I figured I'd simply make an identical version of it for Krita. Later, I made a set for MyPaint called Mojo (named for a manga character) for cartoonists. Short, unnecessary history: my first brush set for Krita posted a couple of years ago, at least, and was just called something like "Comics Bundle for Krita". I posted about Mojo Tone here before, but now all four related sets are posted.
